عن ابن عمر رضي الله عنهما مرفوعاً: «لا تَتْرُكُوا النار في بيوتكم حين تنامون».
Translation
Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not keep the fire burning in your homes when you go to bed."
Explanation
Meaning of the Hadīth: The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) prohibits his Ummah from sleeping before putting out the fire that they lit.

معنى الحديث: أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ينهى أمَّته عن النوم قبل إطفاء النار التي أوقدوها.
- كراهية ترك النار مشتعلة حال النوم؛ لأن ذلك ربما يؤدي إلى الاحتراق، سواء كانت النار للإضاءة ،كالمصباح والشمعة والسِّراج، أم للاستدفاء، كالمدفأة والموقِد وغيرها، وتنتفي الكراهة إذا كانت العاقبة مأمونة.
- يكره الاشتغال بأمر يُلهي عن مراقبة النار.
