    أَلَآ إِنَّ لِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ قَدْ يَعْلَمُ مَآ أَنتُمْ عَلَيْهِ وَيَوْمَ يُرْجَعُونَ إِلَيْهِ فَيُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا عَمِلُوا۟ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمٌۢ

    (64) Unquestionably, to Allāh belongs whatever is in the heavens and earth. Already He knows that upon which you [stand]^[1006] and [knows] the Day^[1007] when they will be returned to Him and He will inform them of what they have done. And Allāh is Knowing of all things.

    Footnotes

    [1006]- i.e., your position - the basis for your actions (whether sincere faith or hypocrisy) and the condition of your souls. [1007]- The meaning can also be rendered "...and [let them beware of] the Day..."

    Covers verses 64

    {64} {ألا إنَّ لله ما في السمواتِ والأرض}: مُلكاً وعبيداً يتصرَّف فيهم بحكمِهِ القدريِّ وحكمه الشرعيِّ. {قد يعلم ما أنتُم عليه}؛ أي: قد أحاط علمُه بما أنتُم عليه من خيرٍ وشرٍّ، وعلم جميعَ أعمالكم؛ أحصاها علمُه، وجرى بها قلمُه، وكتبتْها عليكم الحفظةُ الكرام الكاتِبون. {ويومَ يُرْجَعون إليه}؛ أي: يوم القيامة {فينَبِّئُهم بما عَمِلوا}: يخبرُهم بجميع أعمالِهِم؛ دقيقِها وجليلها؛ إخباراً مطابقاً لما وَقَعَ منهم، ويستشهدُ عليهم أعضاءَهم؛ فلا يعدَمون منه فَضْلاً أو عدلاً. ولما قيَّد علمَه بأعمالهم؛ ذكر العمومَ بعد الخُصوص، فقال: {واللهُ بكلِّ شيءٍ عليمٌ}.
