    وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَىٰ ثَمُودَ أَخَاهُمْ صَـٰلِحًا أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ فَإِذَا هُمْ فَرِيقَانِ يَخْتَصِمُونَ

    (45) And We had certainly sent to Thamūd their brother Ṣāliḥ, [saying], "Worship Allāh," and at once they were two parties conflicting.

    {45} يخبرُ تعالى أنَّه أرسل إلى ثمود القبيلة المعروفة أخاهم في النسب صالحاً، وأنَّه أمرهم أن يعبُدوا الله وحدَه، ويترُكوا الأنداد والأوثان؛ {فإذا هم فريقان يختصمون}: منهم المؤمن، ومنهم الكافر ـ وهم معظمهم ـ.
