    مَا كَانَ لِبَشَرٍ أَن يُؤْتِيَهُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَٱلْحُكْمَ وَٱلنُّبُوَّةَ ثُمَّ يَقُولَ لِلنَّاسِ كُونُوا۟ عِبَادًا لِّى مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَـٰكِن كُونُوا۟ رَبَّـٰنِيِّـۧنَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تُعَلِّمُونَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَبِمَا كُنتُمْ تَدْرُسُونَ

    (79) It is not for a human [prophet]^[134] that Allāh should give him the Scripture^[135] and authority and prophethood and then he would say to the people, "Be servants to me rather than Allāh," but [instead, he would say], "Be pious scholars of the Lord because of what you have taught of the Scripture and because of what you have studied."

    Covers verses 79 - 80

    {79 - 80} أي: يمتنع ويستحيل كل الاستحالة لبشر منَّ الله عليه بالوحي والكتاب والنبوة وأعطاه الحكم الشرعي، أن يأمر الناس بعبادته ولا بعبادة النبيين والملائكة واتخاذهم أرباباً، لأن هذا هو الكفر، فكيف وقد بعث بالإسلام المنافي للكفر من كل وجه فكيف يأمر بضده، هذا من الممتنع لأن حاله وما هو عليه وما منَّ الله به عليه من الفضائل والخصائص تقتضي العبودية الكاملة والخضوع التام لله الواحد القهار، وهذا جواب لوفد نجران حين تمادى بهم الغرور ووصلت بهم الحال والكبر أن قالوا أتأمرنا يا محمد أن نعبدك حين أمرهم بعبادة الله وطاعته، فبين الباري انتفاء ما قالوا وأن كلامهم وكلام أمثالهم في هذا ظاهر البطلان.
