   وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ قُرْءَانًا عَرَبِيًّا لِّتُنذِرَ أُمَّ ٱلْقُرَىٰ وَمَنْ حَوْلَهَا وَتُنذِرَ يَوْمَ ٱلْجَمْعِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ ۚ فَرِيقٌ فِى ٱلْجَنَّةِ وَفَرِيقٌ فِى ٱلسَّعِيرِ

   (7) And thus We have revealed to you an Arabic Qur’ān that you may warn the Mother of Cities [i.e., Makkah] and those around it^[1408] and warn of the Day of Assembly, about which there is no doubt. A party will be in Paradise and a party in the Blaze.

   {7} ثم ذكر منَّته على رسوله وعلى الناس حيث أنزل اللهُ {قرآناً عربيًّا} بيِّنَ الألفاظِ والمعاني، {لتنذرَ أمَّ القرى}: وهي مكةُ المكرمةُ، {ومَنْ حولَها}: من قُرى العرب، ثم يسري هذا الإنذارُ إلى سائرِ الخَلْق، {وتنذرَ}: الناس {يوم الجَمْع}: الذي يجمعُ الله به الأوَّلين والآخرين، وتخبِرُهم أنَّه {لا ريبَ فيه}، وأنَّ الخلق ينقسمون فيه فريقينِ: فريقًا {في الجنة}: وهم الذين آمنوا بالله وصدَّقوا المرسلين، وفريقًا {في السعيرِ}: وهم أصنافُ الكفرة المكذِّبين.
