    وَيَوْمَ يُعْرَضُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ أَلَيْسَ هَـٰذَا بِٱلْحَقِّ ۖ قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ وَرَبِّنَا ۚ قَالَ فَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ

    (34) And the Day those who disbelieved are exposed to the Fire [it will be said], "Is this not the truth?" They will say, "Yes, by our Lord." He will say, "Then taste the punishment for what you used to deny."^[1489]

    {34} يخبر تعالى عن حال الكفار الفظيعة عند عرضِهِم على النار التي كانوا يكذِّبون بها، وأنَّهم يوبَّخون ويُقال لهم: {أليس هذا بالحقِّ}؛ فقد حضرتُموه وشاهدتُموه عياناً، {قالوا بلى وربِّنا}: فاعترفوا بذنوبهم وتبين كذبهم، {قال فَذُوقُوا العَذابَ بما كنتُم تكفُرون}؛ أي: عذاباً لازماً دائماً كما كان كفرُكم صفةً لازمةً.
