    إِنَّمَا ٱلنَّجْوَىٰ مِنَ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِ لِيَحْزُنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَلَيْسَ بِضَآرِّهِمْ شَيْـًٔا إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ

    (10) Private conversation is only from Satan that he may grieve those who have believed,^[1644] but he will not harm them at all except by permission of Allāh. And upon Allāh let the believers rely.

    Footnotes

    [1644]- The reference may be to the sinful type of conversation, as mentioned in the previous verses, or to the practice of two persons speaking in confidence in the presence of a third, which might lead him to assume that he is the subject of their conversation. Such behavior was prohibited by the Prophet (ﷺ) in narrations of al-Bukhārī and Muslim.

    {10} يقول تعالى: {إنَّما النَّجوى}؛ أي: تناجي أعداء المؤمنين بالمؤمنين بالمكرِ والخديعة وطلب السوءِ من الشيطان الذي كيدُهُ ضعيفٌ، [ومكره غير مفيد] {ليحزنَ الذين آمنوا}: هذا غايةُ هذا المكر ومقصوده، {وليس بضارِّهم شيئاً إلاَّ بإذنِ الله}: فإنَّ الله [تعالى] وَعَدَ المؤمنين بالكفاية والنصر على الأعداء، وقال تعالى: {ولا يَحيقُ المكرُ السيِّئُ إلاَّ بأهلِهِ}: فأعداء الله ورسوله والمؤمنين مهما تَناجَوْا ومَكَروا؛ فإنَّ ضَرَرَ ذلك عائدٌ إلى أنفسهم ، ولا يضرُّ المؤمنين إلاَّ شيءٌ قدَّره الله وقضاه. {وعلى الله فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ المؤمنون}؛ أي: ليعتمدوا عليه ويَثِقوا بوعده؛ فإنَّ مَن تَوَكَّلَ على الله؛ كَفاه وكَفاه أمرَ دينِهِ ودُنياه.
