    وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بَاسِرَةٌ

    (24) And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted,

    Covers verses 24 - 25

    {24 - 25} وقال في المؤثرين العاجلة على الآجلة، [و] {وجوهٌ يومئذٍ باسرةٌ}؛ أي: معبسةٌ كدرةٌ خاشعةٌ ذليلةٌ، {تظنُّ أن يُفْعَلَ بها فاقرةٌ}؛ أي: عقوبةٌ شديدةٌ وعذابٌ أليمٌ؛ فلذلك تغيَّرت وجوههم وعبست.
