    وَمَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥٓ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰٓ

    (11) And what will his wealth avail him when he falls?^[1938]

    [1938]- i.e., when he dies or is destroyed. It can also mean when he falls into the Hellfire.

    {11} {وما يُغني عنه مالُه}: الذي أطغاه واستغنى به وبخل به إذا هلك ومات؛ فإنَّه لا يصحب الإنسان إلاَّ عمله الصالح. وأمَّا ماله الذي لم يخرج منه الواجب؛ فإنَّه يكون وبالاً عليه؛ إذ لم يقدِّم منه لآخرته شيئاً.
