    وَمِنَ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينِ مَن يَغُوصُونَ لَهُۥ وَيَعْمَلُونَ عَمَلًا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَكُنَّا لَهُمْ حَـٰفِظِينَ

    (82) And of the devils [i.e., jinn] were those who dived for him and did work other than that. And We were of them a guardian.^[898]

    [898]- Preventing any disobedience or deviation by them from Solomon's instructions and protecting him from being harmed by them.

    {82} {ومِنَ الشياطين مَن يغوصون له ويَعْمَلون عملاً دونَ ذلك}: وهذا أيضاً من خصائص سليمان عليه السلام: أنَّ الله سَخَّر له الشياطين والعفاريتَ، وسلَّطه على تسخيرِهم في الأعمال التي لا يقدِرُ على كثيرٍ منها غيرهم، فكان منهم مَنْ يَغوصُ له البحر ويستخرِجُ الدُّرَّ واللؤلؤ وغير ذلك، ومنهم من يعمل له {محاريبَ وتماثيلَ وجفانٍ كالجواب وقدورٍ راسياتٍ}. وسخَّر طائفةً منهم لبناء بيت المقدس، ومات وهم على عمله، وبقوا بعدَه سنةً، حتَّى علموا موتَه؛ كما سيأتي إن شاء الله تعالى. {وكنَّا لهم حافظين}؛ أي: لا يقدِرون على الامتناع منه وعصيانِهِ، بل حَفِظَهم الله له بقوَّته وعزَّته وسلطانه.
